Book review

I have been reading a book called 'The Tokyo Look Book: Stylish To Spectacular, Goth To Gyaru, Sidewalk To Catwalk' by Philomena Keet and Yuri Manabe.

when I first saw this book I could tell I would be really interested in reading it as I have a love for any thing Japanese. The first thing that strikes you is the cover, it does everything to stand out.

The book first goes into an introduction about Tokyo, about how when you step into Tokyo there are so many styles on offer for anyone, and how the styles have changed throughout the ages. It then goes onto saying that this spectacular look has caught the eyes of western people.

The book delves into the fashion world of Japan and in to the different style trends that or all around.
It goes on to tell you about the different styles, meeting places, fashion designers and life styles.

I personal found this book really interesting, full of facts I didnt know and expanding on the knowledge I already did know about. It is also full of visuals to get a feel of the style.
I liked the chapter on fashion designer H. Naoto, it went on about his shop and clothing lines and what line catered to what style. It also had a section about him as a designer and what inspired him.
One thing I wish this book did do though was go into more detail about the Lolita sub-culture as this is an aspect I love about Japanese fashion, and what they did write wasn't much.
